Pan and Luna: Illustrated by R Wheatcroft

Large folio manuscript bound in illustrated boards with silk ties; calligraphic manuscript title page: 'Pan and Luna by Robert Browning illustrated by R. Wheatcroft' in black ink. The text which is loosely sewn into the binding alternates manuscript pages with four original, matted watercolour illustrative plates that depict a night time landscape, a night sky, and two forest scenes. A few pen jottings suggest this version of the manuscript may have been considered for publication but we can find no trace of it's having appeared.
